No Clear Indication of Explosion in Jakarta




Jakarta, Indonesia (News Today) - There is no clear indication over an explosion occured on Cikini Raya Street, Jakarta, on Tuesday. It was previously reported that the explosion came from underground gas pipelines located around a hotel nearby.

However, Central Jakarta Chief of Detective Commisioner Budi Sarton stated to Kompas.com that the there is no pipelines of Indonesian State-Owned Gas (PGN) on the scene. "PGN officers are doing an investigation on the scene. They said there was no underground gas pipelines on the scene and PGN's pipelines are located across it," said Sarton.

An explosion hurling a concrete material used to cover a gutter occured at 9.30 a.m. local time at a place located between Menteng II Hotel and a gas station. Police and PGN officers are still around the scene closed with police line.
