JAKARTA (News Terupdate) - After being in a relationship for five years, Miss Indonesia 2002 Melanie Putria Dewita Sari and Ksatria Graha Puradiredja — better known as Angga, the lead singer of jazz band Maliq & D’Essentials, married last Sunday in a humble ceremony.
Wearing Sundanese West Java white and pink attires, the couple greeted their guests at the wedding ceremony in the Manggala Wana-bhakti building.
At the ceremony, Angga, 30, gave his new wife — also born in 1980 — a dowry of 61 grams of diamond- platted gold jewelry as well as a Muslim prayer equipment set.
The wedding ceremony continued into the evening with a reception in true West Sumatran tradition, where Angga was given the customary name Sutan Rangkayo Bungsu.
“It [Sutan Rangkayo] means an expectation to be rich, not only rich in the pecuniary sense, but also rich in happiness and togetherness. Bungsu means I’m the youngest,” Melanie, who has also acted in several wide screen films, including Ayat-Ayat Cinta (Verses of Love), said.
The couple planned to leave Jakarta to Bali on Monday for their honeymoon.
