Jakarta, Indonesia (News Today) - ’Bahasa’ Indonesia is considered as an easy language to learn, even a foreigner can master it in two years by autodidact in their spare time, as what South Korean Ambassador to Indonesia Kim Ho-young had done.
"I learn Indonesian by myself in my spare time from the beginning of my service in Indonesia," the ambassador said in an interview here Tuesday.
According to the ambassador, the Indonesian language is easy because of the roman alphabet that made the pronunciation simple, besides ’Bahasa’ also has several foreign language uptakes such as "inovasi" which is derived from the English "innovation" and "persuasi" from the word persuasion.
"I taught myself. For me, the Indonesian language is easy because of the pronunciation is simple," said the diplomat who was born in January 18, 1954 said in a relatively smooth "Bahasa".
Ambassador Kim, Ho-young who was accompanied by his translator often speaks in Bahasa during an interview with ANTARA, and his pronunciation was considered relatively good despite the South Korean’s accent can still be heard. Before occupying his post in Jakarta, Ambassador Kim said he never even learned Indonesian before, although Indonesian literature is taught at Hangkuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS).
Indonesia as an investment destination of South Korean businessman, Indonesian studies? popularity is believed to increase. Moreover, Korea is now the sixth largest investor in Indonesia with a total amount of 1200 companies operating here.
