Jakarta, Indonesia (News Today) - Flag carrier Garuda Indonesia will provide a 25 percent ticket price discount for Sail Banda 2010 participants as a form of its support to the success of the national event, a Garuda executive said.
"That’s one of our commitments to Sail Banda because Garuda is the official airlines for Sail Banda," Garuda General Manager for Ambon branch, Hendra Sumarno said when contacted from Jakarta on Sunday.
He said that amount of discount was decided by the Garuda headquarters in Jakarta while its technical implementation would be coordinated with the Sail Band 2010 organizers.
"So, to know the ones who have the rights to the discount one should consult with the Sail Banda committee," he said.
Garuda also is ready to increase its flight frequencies from the present one flight for the route Jakarta-Makassar-Ambon.
"If the demand for the flight increases we are ready to provide extra flights," he said.
Since this route was opened on June 3, 2010, the average load factor has now reached about 70-75 percent, he said. Sail Banda 2010 which is part of maritime and coastal people’s development will be held from July 24, 2010 to August 17, 2010, with a theme: ’Small Islands for Our Future.’
