(News Today) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono paid respects to the family of late Hasri Ainun Habibie at the mourning house on Patra Kuningan XIII street, Jakarta, Tuesday. The head of state who was also accompanied by his second son Edhie Baskoro arrived at the mourning house at 8.50 am.
The president was expected to lead the funeral ceremony of late Ainun who was the wife of Indonesia’s former president BJ Habibie at the Kalibata Hero’s Cemetery in Jakarta at 11 am. Ainun once underwent medical operation in Germany, and till she passed away Habibie was always beside his beloved wife.
Ainun died at Ludwig Maximilians Universitat hospital, Klinikum Gro’hadern, Munchen, Germany at 17.30 German time (22.30 Indonesian time) on Saturday (May 22) at 73 years old.
Ainun was treated since March 2010 due to cancer. Ainun was born in Semarang, Central Java, on August 11, 1937 and married to BI Habibie (the 3rd Indonesian President) on May 12, 1962.
