Jakarta, Indonesia (News Today) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono installed 24 new Indonesian ambassadors to foreign countries at a State Palace function here Tuesday.
The function started at 10:00 am with the reading of the presidential decree on the appointments and the taking of the appointees’ oaths.
The 24 new envoys were Sudirman Haseng to Nigeria, Cameroon and Togo based in Abuja, Aloysius Lele Madja to Chile based in Santiago, Hamdani Djafar to Mexico and Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Guatemala based in Mexico City, Rezlan Ishar Jenie to France, Monaco, and Andorra based in Paris, Arif Havas Oegroseno to Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union based in Brussels.
Also appointed were Surdaryomo Hartosudarmo to Brazil based Brasilia, Nahari Agustini to Turkey based in Ankara, and Dino Patti Djalal to the United States based in Washington DC, Hasan Kleib to the UN and other international organizations in New York, Ferry Adamhar to Kuwait based in Kuwait City, Ramli Sa’ud to Ethiopia, Djibouti and Somalia based in Addis Ababa.
Furthermore, Nasri Gustaman to North Korea based in Pyongyang, Antonius Agus Sriyono to New Zealand, Samoa and Tonga based in Wellington, Samuel Samson to Serbia based in Boegrad, Muhammad Lutfi to Micronesia and Japan based in Tokyo, Maruli Tua Sagala to Hungary and Macedonia based Budapest, Andreas Sitepu to Papua New Guinea and Soloman Islands based in Port Moresby.
Other appointees were Wilujeng Amir Siregar to the Czech Republic based in Prague, Darmansjah Djumala to Poland based in Warsaw, Wahib to Syria based in Damascus, Sujatmiko to Sudan and Eritrea based in Khartoum, Nurmala Kartini Pandjaitan Sjahrir to Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, based in Buenos Aires, Nur Rahardjo Syahrir to Suriname and Guyana based in Paramaribo, Dimas Samodra Rum to Lebanon based in Beirut.
The installation ceremony was also attended by Vice President Boediono, a number of cabinet ministers and high state institution chiefs.
