Jakarta (News Today) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono confirmed their safe arrival in Jordan after contacting the Indonesian ambassador in Amman who was also ordered to give the Indonesian volunteers whatever assistance they needed.
"Five minutes ago I contacted our envoy in Jordan and he said ten Indonesian nationals had just arrived there by bus," President Yudhoyono said at a press conference at his office here on Wednesday.
But two injured Indonesians, namely Surya Fahrizal of the Friend of Al Aqsa and Okvianto Baharudin of the Indonesian Committee for Solidarity with Palestine were still at a hospital in Israel. President Yudhoyono said that according to information from the Indonesian ambassador in Amman, the two wounded Indonesians had sustained bullet wounds on their legs, hands, and chest.
"Tentative reports I have received said one of the two Indonesians sustained bullet wounds on his legs and hands while the other one had a wound on his chest. It means they are seriously injured and that they are in a hospital in Israel but we do not know which hospital," the president said.
He also issued an instruction to the Indonesian ambassador in Amman to provide medical treatment to the injured Indonesians. The Head of State also asked the Indonesian ambassador to maintain contact with the Jordanian government authorities in facilitating the handling of the 12 Indonesians who had arrived in Jordan.
