Tell Obama Chavez Send Vaccines, Not Troops




Caracas - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez mocked U.S. President Barack Obama about the large number of U.S. troops sent to Haiti pascagempa powerful. Chavez told Obama sent vaccination, rather than the armed forces.

"Obama, tell vaccination, son. Send the vaccination," said Chavez in his weekly broadcast as reported by Reuters news agency on Monday (25.1.2010).

"Each of you send troops there should have brought medical equipment, instead of hand grenades and machine guns," said the Venezuelan leader.

About 13,000 U.S. soldiers sent to Haiti for humanitarian operations after an earthquake measuring 7 on the Richter Scale that struck Haiti on 12 January.

Because of the large number of troops, Chavez also accused the U.S. government take advantage of Haiti earthquake as a pretext for occupying the Caribbean country.
