Banten and Jakarta police on Saturday raided a house at Taman Ciruas Permai housing complex in Serang , Banten, arresting six men and confiscating at least one ton of marijuana.
Police found the marijuana, packed in 24 bags, was kept in a 12-square-meter-wide room in the house during the raid on Saturday morning
Sr. Comr. Anjan Pramuka Putra, chief of Jakarta Police drugs unit, told Antara news agency that the police raided the house following information a man who was arrested with 30 kilograms of marijuana at Kampung Rambutan bus terminal in East Jakarta earlier in the morning.
Anjan said the confiscated marijuana was allegedly transported by a truck from Aceh to be sold in Jakarta and Bali.
He said that the marijuana worth around Rp 1.5 billion (US$162,000) in Jakarta streets and was bought in Aceh for Rp 500 million.
