Amiruddin Denies Bailout Funds Receive Century 35 Billion Rupiah




Makassar - Entrepreneur Amiruddin Rustan denied receiving Century Bank bailout funds amounting to Rp 35 billion as mentioned by ex Kabareskrim Susno Duadji Century before the Special Committee. He also denied knowing a former owner of Century Bank, Robert Tantular.

"My client did not properly receive the Century funds mentioned in the Special Committee," said Amiruddin Rustan's attorney, Hariyanto, when contacted AFP, Saturday (23/1/2010).

Told him, Amiruddin is Century Bank depositors since 2003. He has a deposit of funds amounting to Rp 66 billion.

Deposit funds are the result of Amiruddin business as a distributor of some brands of tires, lubricants, and vehicle batteries. Amiruddin also has businesses in Palu and Kendari.

"My client is disturbed over his associations. Amiruddin you did not know or meet with Robert Tantular. He just knows Century Bank Branch Makassar," he said.

Hariyanto said, Amiruddin had to Century Bank in Jakarta to ask blocking funds on deposit December 24, 2008 and January 2, 2009.

Amiruddin also been reported to Polwiltabes Makassar. He also never went to Police Headquarters Criminal Investigation Body on January 15, 2009. He explained that his deposit of funds unrelated Century bailout funds.

Amiruddin's name is mentioned as a recipient of the bailout funds by the former Century Bank Kabareskrim Pol Komjen Police Headquarters Susno Duadji. This was stated during questioning Susno by Century House of Representatives Special Committee. According to Susno, Amiruddin that only a garage keeper has a budget of about USD 35 billion.

Susno claimed to know the name when he checked Amiruddin Robert Tantular account. Amiruddin took some money that was frozen by the Bank Century.
