BCA dismissed rumors circulating on the Internet that the bank would disable ATM transactions starting 12 a.m. Sunday to Jan. 25.
"Not true," BCA vice president director Jahja Setiaatmadja told The Jakarta Post in a text message Saturday in response to the rumors.
Messages, which have been circulating among customers, claiming to have cited information from BCA employees have been circulating said the bank would blockade ATM transactions starting 12 a.m. Sunday to Jan. 25. They encourage depositors to withdraw money immediately if needed.
"Info from BCA staff. Starting tonight at 12 a.m. BCA will block all ATMs until Jan. 25. If there are funds needed until Monday, (you) may withdraw money today. Thank you," one of the messages said.
