Doctors in Jakarta Reluctant to Treat Patients Drugs




Jakarta - Poverty drug abuse in Jakarta are still facing some obstacles. One of them is a factor physicians are reluctant to handle such cases.

"Many doctors who do not want to deal drugs (user). He said complicated, they'll make more. I should be patient, because they had a lot of wants," said Chief Task Force Therapy and Rehabilitation Hospital Drug Dependence (RSKO) Jakarta Fauzi Mashur.

This he made after meeting with Vice Governor of DKI Prijanto at City Hall, Jl Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jumat (22/1/2010).

In addition to the assessed resources to overcome the lack of drug abuse, the administration is also difficult to perform due to lack of training facilities.

"We do not have a provincial government own rehab. So still need the help of others," he added.

Own administration would not have any data how many drug users in Jakarta.

"The level of user exposure is estimated as many as 270 thousand people. The number was obtained from 1.5 percent of the population, but it is not certain," he concluded.
