Boediono Leaves for US




Jakarta, Indonesia (News Today) - Vice President Boediono left Wednesday morning for the United States to attend the ASEAN-United States leaders’ meeting in New York. Accompanied by a number of special staffs, Boediono and his 26 member entourage took off at Halim Perdana Kusuma airport at 6.15 am and would make a stop-over at Singapore airport to change a flight.

The vice president’s party among other included Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Gita Wirjawan, the economic deputy at the vice president’s secretariat and a number of special staffs. Amid his activities in the United States, the vice president will hold a meeting with businessmen to promote investment.

Presidential spokesman Yopie Hidayat said the vice president would transit in Singapore and would use a Singapore Air Lines plane to fly to New York.

He said the flight from Singapore to New York would take 20 hours. Yopie said the vice president would use his time during the flight to discuss preparations and materials for the meeting in New York.
