Police Arrest Suspect in Indonesian Nightclub Fire

Surabaya, Indonesia (News Today) - Police say they have arrested a suspect in an Indonesian nightclub fire that killed 11 people, including two foreigners. Top detective Lt. Col. Anom Wibowo said Wednesday that the suspect, Christian Natalino, confessed to setting the blaze last week at the Redboxx Cafe in Surabaya city.

Wibowo says the 21-year-old university student told police he was angry because a song he had requested was never played. The packed nightclub erupted in flames as many people were watching the World Cup. A Japanese and an Australian were among the dead.

Wibowo said Natalino told police he used his cigarette lighter to set a couch on fire and then left the nightclub. If found guilty, he could face up to 20 years in jail.
