Sidoarjo, E Java (News Today) - The Sura Madu ( Surabaya - Madura ) bridge has served 11 million motor vehicles during the 5,438-km bridge`s one year operation since it was inaugurated by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on June 10, 2009.
"The bridge had served a lot of interest of the people of E Java," Deputy Public Works Minister Hermanto Dardak said in Sidoarjo, E Java Thursday.
The 11 vehicles passing the more than Rp4 trillion longest bridge in Southeasr Asia included 7.4 million motorcycles and 3.6 million cars.
"On a daily basis, an average of 20 thousand motorcycles and 10 thousand cars passed the bridge," he said.
"In commemorating the first year anniversary of Suramadu, we held a discussion on Monitoring Structural Well being to Support Sustainable Maintenance and Technological Development in Indonesia," he said.
