Boediono and Mulyani are regarded as highly skilled people. But according to an independent watchdog in the United States, the bailout created more risk in system.

Boediono and Mulyani are innocent. Both only acted as soldiers who got orders from a general. The bailout was approved by the President. Take him to court instead of blaming Boediono and Mulyani. A similar case happened to the police chief when antigraft officials were arrested.

I agree with the parties in the inquiry committee that Vice President Boediono and Finance Minister Mulyani should face legal process over the bailout.
But if the law decides that both Boediono and Mulyani are innocent, the legislators from those parties should leave parliament and face due legal process themselves. That’s what I think.

Mulyani , you’ve done what you were mandated to do. Your action averted the kind of financial crisis suffered by most other nations, except for India and China. Bailouts were undertaken by all countries, including China. It’s just unbelievable that there are learned university students who think otherwise.
They should look at how you and Boediono live, as compared to the lascivious spending of the lesser-known politicians, and then hang their heads in shame. Unlike many other corrupt politicians on the inquiry committee who are now pointing fingers, there is no evidence that you have obtained personal gain through your action.
I pray that you will be able to withstand this terrorist action and continue with your work. The country needs you. The fact that you left the opportunity for a very promising career in the IMF to take on this thankless task is an indication of your love for the country. Perhaps this should be a message also to the President.
The issue over Bank Century is not whether the bailout prevented a financial crisis or not. The issue is that the ministry in charge has been given the mandate through the government voted in by the people to take action it sees fit to implement.
The issue is that no personal gain has been made by the department head in charge of the decision. The inquiry team has no shred of evidence that Mulyani derived personal gain.
It’s true the implementation was flawed, but if everybody faced the sack for each flawed decision they made, then the only department left standing would be the “take no action” department. I shudder at the consequences of such a department in charge of the country, particularly if the country is in real crisis.

I believe in Boediono, and most Indonesians fully understand the political direction.
The rhetoric on TV doesn’t affect the public because we know the media have vested interests. They fail to report the truth.
Boediono is not a political person. It’s best not to comment much on political issues. I still believe the truth will prevail. I hope God gives us strength. Go ahead, Boediono, don’t back down!!
