Jakarta, Indonesia (News Today) - Police are now seeking initial evidence to summon Judicial Mafia Eradication Task Force Secretary Denny Indrayana in connection with Gayus HP Tambunan’s statement on CIA agent John Jerome Grice.Gayus, after he was sentenced to seven years jail for tax evasion by the South Jakarta district court on Wednesday, mentioned John Jerome Grice as being implicated in his fake passport case. He said John was a CIA agent whose activities were known to Judicial Mafia Eradication Task Force members.
"If we want to summon someone we have to have initial evidence," said Head of National Police’s Criminal Investigation Department Com. Gen. Ito Sumardi here on Thursday.
He said that all statements made should be accounted for based on the law. "Police will continue taking measures to uphold the law. Therefore, any information, no matter how significant it is, will be followed up," Ito said.
The police commissioner general said that his side would cooperate with the US embassy in Jakarta regarding the case.
"John has been included in the police wanted list in connection with the fake passport used by Gayus to travel abroad," he said.
In cooperation with information experts, police have found face pictures resembling those of Gayus and his wife Milana Anggraeni in Guyana passports. The experts found passport copies in the electronic letters documents of suspect Arie Nur Irawan sent by John Jerome Grice.
The face picture that resembles Gayus’s in the passport was on behalf of Yosep Morris while that resembling Milana was on behalf on Ann Morris. John was believed to be the intellectual mastermind behind the alleged fake passports used by Gayus to travel abroad while he was on police detention in Indonesia over a tax evasion case.
