Jakarta, Indonesia (News Today) - Recent sharp falls in the Indonesian equity market have been mostly due to global inflation concerns, Bank Indonesia Governor Darmin Nasution told reporters Friday.“The falls (in the local equity market) have nothing to do with any specific reasons (domestic fundamental economy),“ Nasution said.
He expects the bearish situation to be “temporary.“ The Indonesia Stock Exchange's main index has fallen 9.4% since the start of 2011.
