Jakarta, Indonesia (News Today) - Indonesia’s ruling party leader Anas Urbaningrum said a movement for the collection of coins for President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono through a social website ’Facebook’ was unimpressive and an over passionate political cynicism.
"I believe that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is too busy to respond to this coin collecting movement. Otherwise it will affect the president’s concentration," Anas said here Tuesday.
The coin for the president movement was not a criticism in democracy because it did not give meaningful benefits for the nation’s democracy, Anas said.
"It is more like a reflection of cynicism and unimpressive political disbelief without considering its benefits to democracy," he said.
In fact that the coin for the president movement was an initiative and the followers had acknowledged that the president did not complain or question his salary. He neither asked for a salary hike, he said.
"Instead, the president is promoting salary hikes for civil servants and soldiers, but what happened is that the sentences have different meanings with political cynicism," Anas said.
He said that the Democrat Party leaders suggested that the president need keep concentrating on his work and improve his performance and should not be disturbed by the criticism.
The head of state earlier said that the salaries of high ranking Military and Police officers need to be raised instead of his own salary that had never been raised over the past seven years.
