Boediono on Two-Day Working Visit to Two Provinces




Jakarta, Indonesia (News Today) - Vice President Boediono and several ministers make a two-day working visit to South Sumatra and Bangka-Belitung provinces from January 21 to 22, 2011. A written statement from the secretariat of the vice president on Friday said Boediono during the visit would inspect a number of development projects in the two provinces, in addition to having a dialog with the students and teachers there.

The vice president during the visit is accompanied by Madame Herawaty Boediono, Home Affairs Minister Gamawan Fauzi, Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Andi Malarangeng, Public Works Minister Djoko Kirmanto, and Agriculture Minister Suswono.

In Palembang, South Sumatra, the vice president will inspect a rice field at Banyuasin subdistrict and to have a meeting with Governor Alex Noerdin and related parties to discuss food resilience effort.

There, he will also plant Jelutung tree (dyera lowii); witness the delivery of credit assistance by executive directors of Bank BRI, Bank Mandiri, Bank BNI, Bank Syariah Mandiri, and Bank Bukopin to their customers; and to inspect Sea Games arena construction project.

On the second day, the vice president will have a dialog with the students and teachers to obtain an input about education progress in South Sumatra, and then to continue his visit to Babel province.

While in Babel, the vice president will also have a dialog with the students and teachers in Pangkalpinang city, and then to have a meeting with Babel Governor Eko Maulana Ali Suroso to discuss development program in the province. The vice president and his entourage will return to Jakarta on Saturday evening.
