Jakarta, Indonesia (News Today) - The Indonesian government has asked the German government to jointly seek solutions to the global financial crisis through the G-20 summit owing to the fact that it was a common desire to solve the problems.

"Global financial crisis is a common problem and both nations shared common interest to solve it," Vice Presidential Spokesman Yopie Hidayat said here on Wednesday.

He made the remarks after accompanying Vice President Boediono in receiving Germany’s Christlich Demokrastiche Union- Christlich Soziale Union (CDU/CSU) Chairman Volker Kauder. Yopie said that the vice president had stated that the world needed to restructure its financial system so that there would be no longer countries which would experience financial crisis.

During the meeting, Volker asked the vice president about the Indonesian efforts in handling financial crisis. The vice president explained, according to Yopie, that it had the been the commitment of Indonesia since its establishment to build democracy as it was emphasized by its founding fathers.
