SBY Tightly Guarded in Tampak Siring Palace Visit




Gianyar Bali, Indonesia (News Today) - The visit of President Susilo Bambang Yodhoyono and First Lady Ani Bambang Yodhyono to the Tampaksiring Palace in Gianyar, Bali, is strongly guarded by local police personnel. The President from Batubulan to Tampaksiring was strongly guarded by police and military personnel.

"In the morning at 8, some 453 security personnel had been sent to guard the Head of State beginning from Ngurah Rai airport to Tampaksiring Palace," head of Gianyar police operations Police Commissioner Made Wartamana said Monday.

He said of the 453 security personnel included 298 from Gianyar police, 110 traffic personnel from throughout Bali, and the rest consisted of mobile brigade police officers, deployed around Tampaksiring Palace. Wartamana said many of the security personnel had been deployed at security-prone locations like Batubulan, Sukawati arts market, Blahbatuh, and Tampaksiring.

He said they security force will be withdrawn on Tuesday at 9 am. President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and the First Lady arrived at Denpasar airport on board Presidential aircraft Boeing 737-800 which landed at 9.30 am. The President and his wive will be in Bali for a night and leave for Lombok tomorrow. The President’s visit to Tampaksiring was particularly aimed at opening the National Student Art Competition 2010 today’s afternoon.
