"We do not know what happened or whether it was beyond the control of the pilot," Murr added in a television interview in Beirut, capital of Lebanon.
Ethiopian Airlines aircraft with flight number Flight 409 lost contact with the Beirut international airport, about 5 minutes after takeoff on Monday, January 25 at 02.37 local time. The plane fell into the Mediterranean sea, about 2.5 nautical miles from the city during the storm Na'ameh.
So far rescuers failed to find any survivors of the disaster. The plane aims Addis Abba, Ethiopia was carrying 83 passengers and 7 crew.
Red Cross volunteers have found 14 bodies and body parts that have been sent to the government hospital of Lebanon, Rafik Hariri.
