Jakarta, Indonesia (News Today) - It's time for President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to directly order law enforcement officers under his coordination to thorougly handle cases dealing with Gayus Tambunan. This kind of action is not an intervention to a legal process.The suggestion was stated by former Vice President (VP) M Jusuf Kalla on Wednesday in Jakarta. "I was ever asked by Ruhut Sitompul if I, as Mr. VP, intervened Robert Tantular case (Bank Century case). I took that as an insult."
"I am saying that an order is needed in intervention. I gave orders. The president does not intervene but gives an order," said him.
Asked by journalists whether the president needs to order his subordinates, national police and district attorney, to handle thoroughly Gayus case, Jusuf Kalla replied: "It depends on how the president responds that. When I was a VP, I would gave an order to do it if necessary."
Kalla said the president did not have to intervene a legal process to get Gayus case done.
"The law says it is OK for government to give orders. It is clearly stated Republic of Indonesia Government that means having authorities to govern all of its state officers."
