Makasar, Indonesia (News Today) - The plan to build a Presidential Residence in the Center Point of Indonesia in Makassar, is awaiting a presidential permit. Head of the South Sulawesi Zoning and Human Settlement Agency Syarief Burhanuddin said in Makassar Wednesday that there are three stages in the construction of the project.
"The presidential residence (Wisma Negara) needs a written approval of the President as it concerns the symbol of the state. It also needs investors to build an area 200 hectares wide," he said.
He said the provincial administration has signed a memorandum of understanding with PT Gowa Makassar Tourism Development (GMTD) as investor and already expressed readiness to conduct the dumping process.
"We are still forbidding them to conduct the dumping process while waiting for the technical design from GMTD," he said. In addition, the provincial administration is still facing problems with certain people claiming to have the right on the land of the area.
