17 dead, 44 missing in China landslides, government agency says




Beijing, China (News Today) - At least 17 people were dead and 44 missing Tuesday from rain-triggered landslides in southwest China's Yunnan and Sichuan provinces, the government-run Xinhua news agency said.

In Yunnan, four people died and 42 were missing, Xinhua said. More than 50 people were injured.

In neighboring Sichuan Province, a landslide killed 13 people and left two missing, Xinhua said.
