Final Piala Dunia 2022 Paling Lambat 18 Desember

Belfast (News Today) - Presiden FIFA, Sepp Blatter, mengatakan bahwa final Piala Dunia 2022 di Qatar semestinya dimainkan paling lambat 18 Desember. Dia mengaku menentang jika pelaksanaan event empat tahunan itu hingga dua hari menjelang Natal.

Blatter mengatakan hal itu ketika tiba di Belfast, Irlandia Utara, untuk pertemuan Dewan Asosiasi Sepak Bola Internasional pada akhir pekan ini. Diakuinya, ide tersebut akan disampaikan kepada komite eksekutif FIFA ketika mereka melakukan pertemuan pada 19-20 Maret.

"Piala Dunia tidak akan melewati 23 (Desember), tentu tidak. Kami harus berhenti pada 18 (Desember)," ujar Blatter kepada para wartawan, Jumat (27/2/2015). "Saya menentang (pelaksanaan sampai) 23."

Pada Selasa (24/2), Satuan Tugas FIFA masih mencari waktu ideal untuk pelaksaan Piala Dunia yang akan digelar di Qatar. Menurut rencana, turnamen tersebut akan diselenggarakan pada November dan paling lambat 23 Desember.

Secara tradisi, Piala Dunia biasanya dihelat pda Juni dan Juli. Tetapi karena pada bulan tersebut suhu panas yang ekstrem terjadi di Qatar (di Timur Tengah pada umumnya), maka bulan November dan Desember menjadi pilihan.

Pelaku Bunuh Diri Tiga Kali Terlibat Pencabulan di JIS

Lima Orang Tersangka Pelecehan Seksual Terhadap Siswa Jakarta International School

Jakarta, (News Today) - AZ, salah satu pelaku kekerasan seksual murid TK Jakarta International School (JIS) diketahui mencabuli murid di sekolah itu sebanyak tiga kali. 

Seperti yang telah diberitakan, AZ yang merupakan tersangka ke-enam kasus kekerasan seksual JIS, meninggal dunia di kamar mandi toilet Mapolda Metro Jaya. Pelaku diduga bunuh diri terkait kasus itu. 

Hal itu diungkapkan Kepala Bidang Humas Polda Metro Jaya, Komisaris Besar Rikwanto, kepada wartawan, di Mapolda Metro Jaya, Minggu (27/4/2014). 

AZ disebut melakukan perbuatan kekerasan seksual tersebut dalam waktu yang berbeda mulai Februari dan Maret 2014. "Pertama di bulan Februari, kedua dan ketiga dilakukan pada bulan Maret," ujar Rikwanto. 

AZ melakukan aksi bejatnya itu bersama tersangka ZA, AW dan SY di toilet Anggrek JIS. Kekerasan seksual itu dilakukan terhadap AK (6), murid TK yang menjadi korban. Perbuatan itu dimulai oleh SY, ZA, dan AW, yang disusul terakhir AZ. 

Kali kedua, kejadian terjadi pada 17 Maret 2014, AZ bersama tiga orang sebelumnya itu melakukan aksinya lagi. Namun, kepada petugas para pelaku mengaku tidak tahu siapa nama korban. 

Pada kekerasan yang dilakukan kali kedua itu, Rikwanto menyatakan para pelaku membagi tugas. Ada yang bertugas memegangi korban ada pula yang menjaga bagian depan pintu.

Sedangkan untuk ketiga kali, kejahatan seksual itu dilakukan lagi pada 20 Maret 2014, di toilet gymnastic sekolah JIS. Lokasinya berdekatan dengan sebuah kolam renang. Bersama teman-temannya AZ mencabuli seorang bocah yang hingga kini belum diketahui identitasnya.

Pekan Depan, Kepala Sekolah dan Tiga Guru TK JIS Diperiksa

Jakarta, (News Today) - Penyidik Polda Metro Metro Jaya memanggil Kepala Sekolah Jakarta International School (JIS), Timothy Carr, terkait kasus kejahatan seksual di sekolah berstandar internasional tersebut. 

"Akan diperiksa Kepala Sekolah JIS Timothy Carr," kata Kepala Bidang Humas Polda Metro Jaya, Komisaris Besar Rikwanto, di Mapolda Metro Jaya, Minggu (27/4/2014).

Selain memerika Timothy, penyidik Polda Metro juga akan memanggil tiga pengajar di taman kanak-kanak itu untuk diperiksa. Mereka rencananya akan dipanggil pada pekan depan. 

"Sekitar hari Rabu dan Kamis. Pemeriksaan tentang sistem (pendidikan) yang dibangun," ujar Rikwanto. 

Kasus kejahatan seksual ini juga membuat polisi telah memeriksa 28 orang pegawai JIS di rumah sakit Polri. Namun, pemeriksaan ke-28 pegawai JIS itu untuk mengetahui kemungkinan di antara mereka ada yang mengidap penyakit herpes, seperti yang terjangkit pada AK (6) korban kekerasan seksual tersebut.

Sudan president wins election, officials say

(News Terupdate) - Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir won the country's controversial but historic presidential election with roughly two-thirds of the vote, the National Election Commission said Monday.

The elections were the first in 24 years in the oil-rich African nation, which has been riven by fighting in Darfur and a civil war between north and south.

A top United Nations official in southern Sudan called the voting "a necessary step in moving towards democratic governance in Sudan."

"The fact that it has come this far can seen as a step forward. It is a step forward in the peace agreement" signed in 2005, said David Gressley, UN resident coordinator for southern Sudan.

He confirmed that two supporters of an independent candidate for governor in Unity State were killed in clashes in the state capital Bentiu on Friday. But he said that in general, the post-election period has been relatively quiet.

The United States and other international observers criticized the elections, saying there were irregularities in many parts of the country.

The elections were "an essential step" in the peace process, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said in a statement last week.

But there were problems with the process, he said, citing "reports of intimidation and threats of violence in South Sudan, [and the] ongoing conflict in Darfur did not permit an environment conducive to acceptable elections."

Al-Bashir won 68.24 percent of the vote in the presidential race, getting just under 7 million votes, the commission said.

Salva Kiir won 92.99 percent of the vote in the race for president of Southern Sudan, a semi-autonomous region that is scheduled to vote next year on whether to become independent.

The results reflect the divisions between north and south that continue to plague the country, a leading independent political analyst said.

"Omar al-Bashir did very well in Northern states and it is not surprising that he did not do well in the South as he is not really well liked by the people in the South," the expert said. The analyst is not authorized to speak on the record and asked not to be named.

There could be isolated incidents of violence in response to the results, but they are what was expected, the observer said.

Al-Bashir, a former military officer who took power in a bloodless coup in 1989, has been indicted over allegations of war crimes by the International Criminal Court.

His implementation of Islamic law created divisions between the north and south.

The voting -- for president, parliament and other local positions -- was scrutinized by about 750 international and 18,000 domestic observers.

The election was a key part of the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement, which helped end decades of civil war between the country's north and south.

The conflict pitted Christian and animist southerners against Muslim northerners, leaving more than 2 million people dead.

The peace deal also called for a referendum next year to determine whether the south should become an independent nation.

"The elections in the south experienced a high incidence of intimidation and the threat or use of force," the Carter Center said after the voting on April 18.

"There were numerous instances of the Sudan People's Liberation Army intimidating voters and being stationed too close to polling stations. State interference in the campaigns of opposition candidates was widespread in the south," said the Atlanta, Georgia-based organization headed by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter.

However, the EU mission said, the elections showed progress on gender equality, "as a minimum of 25 percent of all legislative seats will be occupied by women."

Iranian foreign minister meets with IAEA chief

(News Terupdate) - Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on Sunday met with the head of the U.N.'s nuclear watchdog agency to discuss a plan to swap uranium for a nuclear research reactor in Tehran.

The meeting with International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Yukiya Amano in Vienna, Austria, would "revolve around a fuel exchange deal, which was partly proposed by (Amano) himself," Mottaki told reporters upon arrival in the city, according to Iran's official Press TV.

Under the U.N.-backed plan, Iran would send its uranium abroad for further enrichment. Iranian officials have said the nation has the right to produce highly enriched uranium for the Tehran medical reactor under the supervision of the IAEA.

"We had a series of meetings with member states of the U.N. Security Council a few months ago as a follow-up to a proposal by the IAEA on the delivery of fuel for an Iranian reactor. We have since brought them up to date on recent developments regarding our nuclear activities," Mottaki said.

IAEA spokeswoman Gill Tudor said the meeting "provided an opportunity to discuss issues related to the IAEA's relations with Iran, including the implementation of Iran's NPT (non-proliferation treaty) Safeguards Agreement with the agency."

"The director general and the minister discussed the issue of the provision of fuel for the Tehran research reactor and exchanged views on the possible modalities for its realization," Tudor said in a statement.

"The minister informed the director general about the recently held conference on nuclear disarmament that took place in Tehran."

U.S. President Barack Obama has been pressing the Security Council to impose tougher sanctions on Iran for its nuclear ambitions.

Iran has long claimed that its nuclear program is intended for civilian purposes, but the United States and other Western nations fear it aims to build a nuclear bomb.

A nuclear swap, Mottaki said Sunday, could build trust on both sides.

"Given the current circumstances, the role of the U.N. nuclear agency and its director can be even more positive and efficient in finding a solution to the deadlock over Iran's uranium enrichment," he said, according to Press TV.

Mottaki said he also plans to meet his Austrian counterpart, Michael Spindelegger, in Vienna in order to get Spindelegger's take on the Iranian nuclear issue, Press TV said.
